Welcome To Buchanan House!
Welcome to Buchanan House, a dramatically restored historic federal colonial built in 1868. We are perfectly located close to Chester county’s horse country, and Lancaster county’s farmlands and Amish traditions. Guest rooms have been newly decorated and renovated in 2011 with elegant but comfortable furnishings and beautiful private baths. A full gourmet breakfast is served in either the dining room, our sunny breakfast room, or out on the patio by the fountain. There is lots of room to roam from the old Library with fireplace, the living room, or the dramatic Great Room with a Frank Furness fireplace overlooking boxwood gardens & fountain.
Our country setting, with horse and buggy’s outside, is only minutes from a wide range of varied urban pleasures including the fine restaurants in the Brandywine Valley, Downingtown/Exton, and Lancaster. Museums, diverse shopping/outlets, and cultural attractions and the beauty of Longwood and Waterloo Gardens are all within 30 minutes of our superb, central location.
